About the Role
We’re hiring a full-time Senior Full Stack Frontend Engineer to help us expand and optimize our open source/fair source Bitcoin-based financial infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our frontend systems with a focus on TypeScript, React, Next.js, and GraphQL. You will collaborate closely with our backend team members who work primarily in Rust.

The ideal candidate checks many of the following points:
- Has 5+ years of professional experience as a frontend or full-stack software engineer.
- Is deeply engaged with Bitcoin and motivated to drive global adoption.
- Has strong experience working with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Familiarity or experience with Rust is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with core banking software or other financial services platforms is a strong plus.
- Is comfortable with GraphQL and can lead frontend API integrations.
- Is passionate about delivering secure, highly available, and responsive software.
- Spanish language is a strong plus. We will help you relocate to El Salvador if desired; remote work is also an option.
Main Responsibilities
- Architect and Develop: Design, implement, and maintain frontend applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and GraphQL.
- Integrate with Backend: Work closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with backend services primarily built in Rust.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Engage with backend engineers and stakeholders to create a seamless user experience.
- Ensure Stability & Security: Implement best practices for testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
- Mentor & Guide: Implement best practices for frontend testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
- Contribute to Open Source: Participate in open source development, code reviews, documentation, and community engagement around Galoy’s repositories.
Candidate Skills
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Strong experience designing and consuming GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with Rust (or willingness to learn) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Bitcoin and Lightning Network protocols is a plus.
- Experience with mobile technologies such as React Native is a plus.
- Strong product sense: Ability to translate product requirements into elegant frontend solutions, particularly for financial applications.
- Startup Mindset: Comfortable making trade-offs and quickly pivoting as needed.
- Effective Communication: Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Spanish skills are a strong advantage, especially for LATAM collaboration.
- Remote & Async: Experience working remotely across time zones using asynchronous communication
